Job Description: Film Colorist

Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Film Colorist to join our dynamic film production team. As a Film Colorist, you will be responsible for enhancing, correcting, and manipulating the color of film footage to achieve the desired visual aesthetic and mood for the final product. This role requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of color grading techniques.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Photography (DP) and the post-production team to understand the artistic vision and color requirements for each project.
- Use advanced color grading software and tools to adjust and balance the color, contrast, saturation, and exposure of film footage.
- Apply color correction techniques to ensure continuity and consistency throughout the film.
- Manipulate colors to evoke specific emotions and enhance storytelling.
- Collaborate with the Director and DP to develop unique visual styles and looks for each project.
- Maintain a high level of quality control, ensuring that the final color grading meets industry standards and client expectations.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest color grading techniques, software, and industry trends.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Fine Arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven work experience as a Film Colorist or similar role in the entertainment industry.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard color grading software such as DaVinci Resolve, Baselight, or Adobe SpeedGrade.
- Strong understanding of color theory, composition, and visual storytelling.
- Excellent knowledge of digital video formats, codecs, and file types.
- Familiarity with different camera formats and their corresponding color spaces.
- Solid understanding of post-production workflows and processes.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency in color grading.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from the DP and Director.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- A portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous color grading work is highly desirable.
